Mission Statement

The Camden Partnership, Inc. supports and promotes Military and Homeland Security missions by developing Partnerships at the Local, Regional, State and Federal levels, and partners with local organizations to promote economic development and quality growth throughout Camden County.

Vision Statement

The Camden Partnership, Inc. facilitates partnerships between private, public, governmental and community organizations in order to craft a comprehensive vision for Camden County that integrates the requirements of Military and Homeland Security missions, and to work together to reach that vision.

Guiding Principles

The Camden Partnership, Inc. will achieve this vision by: 

  • Striving to be a leader in community planning efforts.
  • Participating in efforts that will improve the Quality of Life for Camden County residents.
  • Conducting community planning to support installation growth at Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay (NSBKB).
  • Adhering to the principles of Smart Growth and Quality Economic Development.
  • Supporting small business development and growth.
  • Always being truthful and fair.
  • Committing to open communications.
  • Leveraging resources to assist in planning and managing growth.
  • Promoting community involvement.
  • Cultivating local expertise.

Facilitating Economic Growth 

  • Facilitates community inputs into the Comprehensive Plan development process

  •  Serves as liaison to incorporate Base desires & needs into Plan

  • Support Joint Development Authority efforts to formulate a County plan for water and sewage treatment

  • Assist the Chamber of Commerce in their Small Business Development efforts

  •  Facilitate process improvement for local business access to NSB Kings Bay contracts and contractors

  • Manage grant award from Office of Economic Adjustment to study economic diversification in Camden County

  •  Working with Destination Camden to implement  the Department of Community Affairs Quality Growth recommendations

  • Adhere to Smart Growth Principles

Improving Quality-of-Life in Camden County

Education Partnerships: bringing Student-2-Student mentoring program and Interactive Counseling Centers to Camden to assist children during school transitions.  Assist in marketing Coastal Georgia Community College as an asset in bringing economic growth to the county.

Health Services Partnership: working with Coastal Medical Access Project to continue operations of Kingsland Health Clinic, and to establish the Three Share Medical Insurance Plan, a low-cost medical plan for uninsured workers.

Affordable Housing: building partnerships to obtain grants to address affordable and low-income housing and conduct housing assessment.

Community Action Group

A Community-Based effort to support and promote Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay

In 2003, Governor Perdue established action groups in each of the thirteen (13) Georgia communities privileged to have a military installation.  The action groups were given the name of Community Action Groups, or CAG.  The purpose of CAG is to provide an interface between the Georgia Military Affairs Coordinating Committee (GMACC) and Georgia’s Military bases as well as focusing community efforts to promote and support Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

 Objectives:

  • Supporting the Mission of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay

  • Supporting Local Governments

  • Facilitating Economic Development

  • Improving Quality-of-Life in Camden County

The responsibilities are to:

  • Evaluate base or installation in terms of mission value, quality of life, and excess capacity

  • Undertake action to resolve community-based issues

  • Report to the GMACC board of directors those issues best addressed at the state or local level

  • Raise funds for operational expenses or for local projects and/or studies

  • Report quarterly to the board of directors of GMACC
